Exceptional Benefits of the Approved Metro Route Network
Old Gurugram does not currently have a metro line, hence this proposed route is designed to link the new and old Gurugram. In the future, the metro system will provide links to the New Delhi Railway Station and the IGI airport. Furthermore, it is anticipated to support regional prosperity and economic growth in general. With an estimated population of almost 1.2 million, Gurugram will get tremendous transportation benefits from this proposed metro connectivity. Another notable benefit is that the extension of the metro will offer multi-modal connectivity to the existing route. The new route will be connected to the HUDA City Center station, the RRTS of Sector-22, and the railway station located close to Sector-5.
How the Upcoming Route Will Add Value to the Existing Metro Station Network in Gurugram?
With the existing metro route, Gurugram and Delhi have already been linked by the Yellow Line of the Delhi Metro where a 7.05-km line approx. is connected to Gurugram including five stations—Guru Dronacharya station, Sikandarpur station, MG Road station, and IFFCO Chowk station. Currently, the terminus of this line is the HUDA City Metro Station. The extending routes are projected to bring in about 7.5 lakh passengers each day and boost job opportunities in the Gurugram region. It will also facilitate connectivity to Old Gurgaon's railway station. The government stated in an official statement that it will give connectivity to IGI Airport in the years to come phase, emphasizing that this initiative would be beneficial for general economic growth in the region.
